In order to qualify for the state championship tournament, the Lightning Bolts won their regular season BAYS division, followed by winning the BAYS post season tournament championship. Upon reaching the state tournament, they wonall three of their group stage games, followed by semi-final and final victories to bring home their medals.
The Lightning Bolts won their semi-final game 4-3 over Medford, and the state championship game 3-0 over Scituate. For the 2016 season, the Lightning Bolts finished undefeated with a 17-0-1 record. It is worth noting that the onedraw the U14’s tallied in the regular season, was a game in which they had to play with only 10 players and no substitutions for the entire game.
