Dear LUSC family,
Please consider donating your used but still usable soccer equipment to disadvantaged children in Nicaragua. Your donations will support a local Nicaraguan soccer academy in the city of Granada that works with disadvantaged boys between the ages of 8 to 15. The club seeks to provide these at-risk youths with a positive sports experience in an effort to enrich and improve their lives.
Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with a high percentage of the population living in poverty. Under such conditions, the most basic items that we take for granted, such as cleats, socks and soccer balls, are well beyond the reach of most families. Your donation allows these children to play organized soccer in a supportive environment and to experience all of the positive benefits of a team sport.
This will be the 8th time that our family has partnered with LUSC to collect and distribute soccer gear in Nicaragua. Words cannot express our gratitude to the LUSC community for its incredible support of our past efforts. Pretty much every piece of soccer related clothing or equipment that you see in the photo above came from a generous LUSC family. Your generosity has a direct and powerful impact on the lives of these kids.
This year we are looking for donations of:
**** Soccer cleats (all sizes)
**** Soccer balls, sizes #4 and #5
**** Shin guards
**** Soccer socks
**** Soccer shorts
**** Soccer uniforms
**** Goalie gloves
We ask that all items be dropped off at our home at 34 Summit Road in Lexington by no later than Saturday, May 27. If you have any questions please e-mail Tom at tboreiko@rcn.com or call him on his cell phone at 617 283 0090.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Tom Boreiko and Alison Coolidge
