Dear LUSC families,
We are aware of concerns related to the safety of our children and community members from the mosquito borne Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) virus and will be following the guidance of the Lexington Office of Public Health. As of today, the Office of Public Health has confirmed, via the Lexington Recreation Department, that the risk in Lexington remains low and it is not issuing a specific advisory or recommending mandatory restriction of outdoor activities. They have provided recommendations on use of clothing and bug spray to further reduce risk in the following link:
With this guidance in mind, we do encourage you to apply bug spray to your children prior to practices and games.

While these guidelines have been provided by the MA Department of Public Health, please use your own discretion to keep your child safe. Your child will not be penalized or at any disadvantage should you decide to keep them off the town fields at any time this season due to EEE concerns.
