Hi Coaches,
It’s amazing that another season is around the corner, but that’s the reality. First and foremost, thank you for volunteering to coach a team this Spring.
LUSC is thrilled to announce that on Saturday March 24th from 1:00pm to 5:30pm we will be hosting a US Soccer Coaching Module specific to the 9v9 game format. The transition from the 7v7 to 9v9 game format is crucial in both player development and player enjoyment and we want to provide our coaches with the tools to make this experience as seamless as possible. The course will be split between classroom work (Bridge Elementary School) and field work (Lincoln #2).
For course details and to register: https://dcc.ussoccer.com/courses/available/22/details/1849
The cost of the course is $50.00, but all active LUSC Coaches will reimbursed in entirety upon course completion.
The 9v9 course will highlight:
- S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy
- Play-Practice-Play Methodology
- The Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 11-12
- The course will also ask each candidate to reflect on their experiences to develop action steps for personal growth.
I do appreciate that everyone has a busy schedule, but if there is any way you can carve out the time to attend the 9v9 Coaching Module, I’m confident that you’ll find it very beneficial to your development and enjoyment as a coach as you transition your team to 9v9.
I look forward to seeing you at our Coaches Meeting on March 19th and on the field this spring.
All the Best,
Brendan
